Let me tell you a story about a stealthy little Saturn SL2 that lived a 9 to 5 life while dreaming of becoming a real rocket. He lived a privileged life of oil changes and tire rotations in his sub-division, while he drove past the sooped up Mustangs & Corvettes in the to and fro of his daily routine life. Oh, he was jealous, knowing that no matter how much money or time his owners would put into his little engine it just wouldn't compare to the V8 and big block engines. Well the nice people that spoiled him with love and care finally understood how much he desperately wanted to race, and gave him his opportunity. So with a few phone calls he was sold to a wonderful team of hula-gins that slapped a #55 on the side, duck taped some rockets on his trunk, named him the "Sa-turd 55", and named themselves "Kick Uranus Racing". So the only thing left to make this little Saturn's life's dream complete is for the nice judges approve him to race @ Nelson Ledges 24 hours of Lemons race in October. Our only request, please don't tell him he may get crushed if we lose. (He might try to back out, he's sensitive) First Timers Here! We are a group of wanna be racers trying to give the Detroit 3 a little bit of credit, or…well…might give them a bad name, but that may be too late. (Actually we only bought an American car because we couldn’t find an import for under $500!) Our team consists of 5 drivers and 5 pit crew members at this point. Our car is a 97 Saturn SL2 we got for a steal, and hope it makes it through the entire race without the engine blowing. We originally wanted to call the team “Madoff-Ponzi Racing” but had a lot of difficulty finding sponsors, dunno why? Thank You, Kick Uranus Racing
You can't polish a turd, but you'll get waxed by the Saturd!
We are a team of nobody's that decided to pretend we can road race like the pro's... Our first race was in the 24 Hours of Lemons at Nelson Ledges Road Course Oct 09. We liked the Nelson Ledges people & course so much we decided to stalk the place. KUR is now running the www.UsedCarRacing.com series started by a team we tried to trade paint with at Lemons Race but they kicked our butt.. The first race is April 24 and 25 at Nelson Ledges Road Course in Warren Ohio. WE ARE STOKED!!!!! THE SATURD RIDES AGAIN!
Listed is our Bio submitted to the judges for acceptance of entry to race

Well the 2009 race season is over, boo! I can say on behalf of the team that this was the most fun we have ever had. Between getting the car, stripping, tweaking, adding the roll cage, driving door to door, and the absolute craziness of the race! Before we actually left Nelson Ledges Road Course we were already discussing next season and how we can do better. How can we do better you ask, well… First we hopefully won’t blow 2 engines and lose a tire! We lost our first engine within the first hour of the race, found another engine on craigslist (60 miles away), replaced it, and were back out on the track driving within 6 hours. During the slow pace of testing the new engine we lost a tire coming out of the large sweeper into the straight away. Luckily we only had to replace the studs, brake, and rotor. Then again, we were back out on the track. A few hours after it, our second engine started ticking. At that point, we decided as a team it would be smarter to stop while we could still rebuild the engine. We didn’t get to cross the finish line with the checkered flag, but in a sense, we didn’t need to. We accomplished something in 2009 that none of us thought fathomable. We plan to do several races in 2010 and are currently in discussion of locations and dates. As soon as we iron it down we will inform everyone. We want to thank every one that helped, cheered, supported, and the people that down right didn’t think we could do it!!! This is just the beginning for Kick Uranus Racing driving the Saturd into the sunset of many race tracks!! Oh the best part!! Tony & Carrie found out they were pregnant as soon as we got back from Nelson Ledges, so Kick Uranus Racing will have a new mascot in the summer of 2010. Congratulations to their growing family!
